Why Our Teen Hair Program Is the Glow-Up Every Parent Should Say Yes To

What does it take to help a teenager love and care for their natural hair?
A safe space. Real knowledge. And hands-on experience.

That’s exactly what the KL’s Teenagers Hair Program offers.

And after an exciting, empowering, and skill-packed July cohort, we’re thrilled to announce:
August kicks off on the 4th!

If you’ve got a teen who’s curious about hair, struggling to manage theirs, or constantly watching YouTube tutorials without clear guidance — this is the perfect opportunity to bridge the gap between frustration and confidence.

What Is the Teen Hair Program All About?

This isn’t just “hair training.” It’s a month-long journey where girls learn:

✔ How to understand their own hair
✔ How to care for it safely
✔ And how to style it beautifully and skillfully

We combine theory, practical sessions, and real salon tools to make it both educational and exciting.

What They’ll Learn (Hands-On)

Throughout the program, teens will:

• Discover what hair is made of and how it grows
  
• Learn about curl types, porosity, and texture care
  
• Master proper detangling, shampooing, and blow-drying
  
• Explore product types, how to use them, and when
  
• Install braids, Ghana weaving, twists, and crochet styles
  
• Practice on mannequin heads before styling themselves
  

Each week builds on the last — ending with a mini showcase where participants demonstrate their new skills.

 Hygiene & Professional Practice Included

Beyond just styling, we teach proper hygiene and infection control.
From sanitizing combs to handling tools correctly, these young ladies are introduced to professional salon standards in a beginner-friendly way.
